BERWYN, PA, February 16, 2011—Construction site managers in the petrochemical, mining, and power industries can now increase jobsite safety while boosting workforce efficiency with ModSpace Blast Resistant Modules. Solid steel BRMs are engineered to withstand an initial blast rating of 8 PSI side-on pressure for 200 milliseconds, the highest rating available for any BRM. There’s no better place than ModSpace BRMs for workers to take a break without having to bus them off-site and away from the blast zone.
“ModSpace BRMs enable construction site managers to operate more efficiently,” says Marc Boily, Senior Vice President ModSpace Canada. “Spending less time transporting employees to and from blast zones means more time on the job being productive.”
ModSpace BRMs can be quickly outfitted to suit specific needs as break rooms, offices, restrooms, and more. Modules can be connected to one another or stacked to create larger, multistory blast resistant facilities.
ModSpace BRMs are available in two sizes: 12’x40’ and 12’x60’, which seats up to 50 people. Weights are 38,000 pounds and 48,000 pounds respectively. They’re easily transported to virtually any location and positioned with tilt-bed delivery.
Crimped ¼-inch plate steel walls and ¼-inch flat plate roof provide maximum strength and durability from blast and flying debris. Every module has two 3’x7’ CSA Field and CWB-certified 50-PSI blast-resistant doors and an exterior service entrance. Heating and cooling is provided by Bard Class I, Div. II CSA-approved commercial-grade HVAC systems—2-ton HVAC units on 40’ BRMs and 3-ton units on 60’ models. Roughed-in boxes and conduit are also included for easy wiring of voice and data communications. BRMs are fully insulated buildings with a one-hour fire rating.
